For businesses

What is Authentikor?

Software that makes your emails and documents verifiable. It also runs your email signatures and banners.

What can carry a code?

Emails, invoices, contracts, PDFs, letters and quotes.

Do my clients need to install anything?

No. They check the code in a web browser.

Can I stop a code working?

Yes. You can cancel or blacklist it at any time.

Can a code run out?

Yes. It can expire after a set time or a set number of checks.

Do I need to connect it to my other systems?

No. An API is available if you want to.

Who manages the email signatures?

Company administrators manage signatures for individual staff members. Choose a template or use a custom HTML design, with shared company styling or individual layouts.

Do campaign banners carry verification codes?

No. Campaign banners carry a promotion, notice or link. Verification-code labels are a separate feature.

Can I schedule a campaign banner?

Yes. Set your own start and end dates and times, choose the senders, and add weekday or daily time rules where needed.

Where can I see signature and banner examples?

See email signatures and banners for template and custom layouts, plus clearly labelled campaign examples.

What does website verification establish?

It links a website to a verified company and checks control of the domain. Check the linked verification record for current status; it is not a guarantee that every page or transaction is safe. See website verification examples.

Who issues licence certificates?

Eligible verified companies issue certificates to their licensees. Recipients can check the issuer, scope, validity dates and current status. A licence certificate is distinct from a website verification seal. See licence certificate examples.

Which email systems does it work with?

Your outgoing mail passes through Authentikor before delivery. Contact us about your mail system and configuration before you connect it.

How much does it cost?

Contact us for a demo and a quote for your business.

For people who received a code

Where do I check a code?

At authentikor.co.za/verify.

What will I see?

If the code is valid, a certificate showing who issued it, what it may be used for, and the dates it is valid. If not, a message that it is invalid, expired or blacklisted.

My code says invalid, expired or blacklisted. What now?

Do not act on the email or document. Phone the sender on a number you already trust.

Do I need to give my details?

You can enter a verification code without creating an account. The issuer's system counts and logs each check.

Checking a code or a seal

How do I check an Authentikor code?

Open authentikor.co.za/verify, type the code and press Verify a code. You can also click the link in the email or point a phone camera at the QR code, and both open the same check. You do not need an account.

Can I scan the seal?

Yes. Give the file check a photo, a screenshot or the file itself (PNG, JPG or PDF). The seal leads to the same record as the typed code and shows the same result.

What does a scan show?

A scan shows what the code or seal was issued for: who issued it, what it belongs to, the dates and its current status. For an invoice that includes the invoice number, the amount and the last digits of the bank account. For an email it includes the sender address and the recipients, masked. Compare it with the document or email in front of you.

What if the seal was copied onto another document?

A copied seal reads exactly like the original, so the scan shows what the original was issued for and the difference stands out. If the invoice in your hand has another amount or another bank account than the record, you can see it at once. The proof is the signed record and the match with your document, not the picture of the seal.

What does "nothing found" mean?

It means Authentikor found no seal or code to show for what you checked, and nothing more. "Nothing found" never means the document is fake. If you expected a code, phone the sender on a number you already trust.

What is the difference between the code and the seal?

The code and the seal are two ways to reach the same record. The code is short text that you can click, type or scan as a QR code; the seal is a round stamp that the file check reads from a photo, a screenshot or the file. Whichever you use, the result is the same.

Can I check a PDF or an invoice?

Yes. Drag the PDF, the invoice or a picture of it (PNG or JPG) onto the file check, and Authentikor shows every seal, QR code and printed code it finds in it. If they lead to different records, it tells you that they do not belong together.

Where does the seal go?

Verified businesses carry it on every medium they send: email banners, websites, PDFs, financial documents and certificates. It is the same seal each time, and one place checks them all: the file check reads a PNG, JPG or PDF and shows every seal, QR code and printed code it finds.

Who gets a seal?

Only businesses Authentikor has verified. The seal is issued only to businesses Authentikor has verified, and it is checked against their current verification. A code without a seal still checks the message: a company that is not verified keeps the code and the banner, and the check shows what the code was issued for.

Can I seal invoices and quotes?

Yes. Authentikor seals quotes, invoices, pro forma invoices, statements and credit notes, and any other PDF. Each document gets its own seal and code, bound to its details such as the document number, the amount and the last digits of the bank account. You can add document sealing to a plan or use it on its own: see document sealing or enquire.

Do I need an account to check a code or a seal?

No. You can check a code or a seal without creating an account or giving your details. The issuer's system counts and logs each check.
